ISO 22000:2018 FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

WHAT IS ISO 22000:2018 FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM?

ISO 22000 is a Food Safety Management System designed for any entity involved in the food supply chain, from agricultural production to the final consumer. Achieving ISO 22000 certification allows a company to prove to its customers that it has a robust food safety management system in place. Created as a universal standard, ISO 22000 ensures the safety of the global food supply chain by enabling businesses to demonstrate their ability to manage food safety risks and guarantee the safety of consumable products for the public.

This standard is applicable to all kinds of food supply chain entities, regardless of their scale, and is recognized worldwide by various stakeholders, including regulators, primary producers, food manufacturers, packers, retailers, and consumers.

ISO 22000 confirms the establishment of effective and reliable food safety management systems, which is a crucial step in meeting the requirements of recognized schemes by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

An impartial review of food safety by a reputable independent entity, such as TÜV SÜD, provides an objective evaluation of the effectiveness of quality systems and processes, ensuring the production of safe food and food products. TÜV SÜD is certified for conducting ISO 2200 audits and collaborates with companies to ensure compliance with established criteria.
